A fantastic website full of book recommendations for children. It has thousands of extracts available to read.

Literacy Shed
A website filled with ideas for Writing using visual resources such as film, animation and pictures.

Pobble 365
A picture a day. Each picture can be used as a stimulus for writing. For each picture, you will also find a story starter, questions and a sentence challenge.

Phonics Play
Phonics Play is a website where children can practise their phonics online. The website has opened up its subscription service for free and parents will not need to subscribe. Username: march20 Password: home

Oxford Owl
You can sign up for a free account to access over 100 free eBooks.  The site also has activities and resources to support phonics and spelling.

The site has an audio guide to hear all 44 sounds made by the 26 letters in our alphabet. You can use the audio guide to hear how to correctly say each sound on their own and in example words. Learn to Read With Phonics

Spelling Frame
Spellingframe includes all the words – both statutory and the example words – from the National Curriculum for Spelling for Year 1 to Year 6. There is a free part to the website where children can choose a spelling rule then choose to either practise the spelling or take a test with those words.

First News
First News is a weekly newspaper aimed at 7 to 14-year-olds that aims to get kids talking about the news in an easy to understand and non-threatening way. They are creating free access to their digital newspapers for a limited period of time, to help parents, children and schools during school closures.
